MOMS Club holds preschool and activity fair

March 10, 2018

The MOMS Club of Coastal Delaware held its 8th Annual Preschool and Activity Fair Feb. 10 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach. About 350 people came out that rainy Saturday morning to the free event.

Families were able to learn about all the great activities the area has to offer. Approximately 40 vendor booths included local preschools, libraries, music programs, art and dance studios, to mention a few.

To keep the kids engaged, there were lots of interactive booths with sand and playdough as well as fun giveaways like sunglasses and frisbees. Kids’ Ketch from Lewes was there with a kids’ checkout lane just like at the grocery store.

There were demonstrations from Sussex Dance Academy, Coastal Dance Academy and Makin’ Music. The Factory had an obstacle course set up for kids to try. All of the food was donated for the event, and so were the services of the balloon man who had a long line the whole time. Face painting was a big hit.

Christine Charles, MOMS Club coordinator for the event, thinks it is very important to “give where you live.”  She said how beneficial it is to hold an event like this yearly, because it brings the whole community together, and keeping kids active will benefit everyone. For next year’s fair, Charles is hoping to have some more vendors targeting school-aged children to reach more parents and kids in the community.

MOMS Club extends thanks to all the event vendors and sponsors, especially Jack Lingo Realtor and Schell Brothers.
