More thoughts on broadcasters

October 17, 2017

When I look up the definition of "broadcasting/broadcasters," I see no mention of censorship, nor did I delegate to the media industry to determine what I am able to see. If a person or corporation is able to decide what is seen or not seen, I would call this an example of fake news.

To turn the argument of what the flag, anthem, and pledge of allegiance mean into a mutually exclusive dynamic ignores the history and the diversity of this country. What is needed is a dialogue where diverse views are represented.

Rather than rail against First Amendment freedoms, engage the opposition to learn their positions and perhaps reflect a more enlightened or balanced view. For example, if I want to see the protests, do I have to go to a game or can’t I stay home too?
