A mother and her grown son were robbed Nov. 10 as they were in the front yard of their Lincoln home, police say.

The woman, 44, and man, 27, were at their home in the unit block of Swiggetts Mill Road at 8:15 p.m. when two men approached them and assaulted the man, said Master Cpl. Michael Austin of the Delaware State Police.

The mother tried to intervene and the men also assaulted her. They took the man’s wallet and the cash inside, Austin said.

The men, who wore dark clothing and covered their faces, fled on foot toward Fleatown Road. Both victims were taken to Milford Memorial Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
