Nancy A. Jefferson, Registered Nurse
Nancy A. Jefferson, 80, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Georgetown, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, in Port Charlotte.
Nancy was born Feb. 19, 1937, the first child of Norman and Fannie Abbott of Georgetown.
Nancy was a Registered Nurse at Beebe Hospital and active in the Eastern Star. Nancy had a talent for sewing and knitting. She enjoyed reading and taking care of her beloved animals, Bubba and Jim Kitty.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, Capt. Ronald Jefferson; her first child, Debbie Rogers; and a grandson, Kirk Rogers.
She is survived by three daughters, Heidi Johnson, Lisa Hershelman and Johnna Fairbee; two stepsons, Jeff Jefferson and Jay Jefferson; a sister, Joan Pittenger; a brother, Kenny Abbott; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, Friday, Oct. 20, at 5 p.m., where friends may call for a time of visitation at 4 p.m.
