Neighborhood revitalization grant applications due Dec. 19

The Neighborhood Building Blocks Fund board invites neighborhood revitalization programs, neighborhood associations, community groups, law enforcement, local governments and other stakeholders to apply for grants from the fund to support crime reduction, neighborhood revitalization and economic development initiatives statewide. Approximately $3.7 million is available thought the Building Blocks Fund. Applications will be accepted through Monday, Dec. 19.

Grant priority will be placed on proposals that: address unmet needs of high-crime areas statewide, improve resources and opportunities for at-risk juveniles and adolescents, increase the use of planning that incorporates crime-prevention strategies, complement projects funded by DSHA's Strong Neighborhoods Revolving Housing Fund, support revitalization strategies in and around Delaware's Downtown Development Districts, support community planning consistent with OSPC Healthy Communities principles and support communities in Delaware Economic Development Office's Main Street Program.

Completed applications should be emailed to DEDO_NBBF@state.de.us or mailed to the following address: The Neighborhood Building Blocks Fund, c/o The Delaware Economic Development Office, 820 North French St., 10th Floor, Wilmington, DE 19801. Completed applications for the initial round of funding must be received or postmarked by Dec. 19.
