Senate to release three-day legislative agendas
For the first time, the state Senate will begin releasing a three-day legislative agenda to the public on the Friday preceding each session week. Senate President Pro Tempore David McBride, D-Wilmington Manor, announced the change Jan. 19. In a prepared statement, he said the change will help improve transparency, efficiency, and public participation in the Legislature. The Senate agenda is distributed electronically and throughout Legislative Hall by the secretary of the Senate. It is also available online at www.legis.delaware.gov. The new agenda system will be implemented beginning on the legislative week of Jan. 23-25.

Recycling council to meet Jan. 24
Delaware's Recycling Public Advisory Council will meet at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the State of Delaware Support Services Office, 100 Enterprise Place, Suite 4, Dover. The RPAC meeting agenda can be found on the Statewide Meeting Calendar at publicmeetings.delaware.gov/Meeting/56994. Dewey budget committee to meet
The budget and finance committee's next meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, in the Dewey Beach Life Saving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. The agenda calls for a continued review of departmental budgets. Lewes BPW meeting set Jan. 24
The Lewes Board of Public Works will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 24, at city hall. The panel will discuss the transfer of BPW indebtedness from the seller of a home to the buyer, a request from WRDE to place a camera on the water tower and introduction of the proposed 2018-19 operating budget. Human trafficking program set in Lewes
The GFWC Zwaanendael Women's Club and the Lewes Public Library are presenting a program titled Human Trafficking in Delaware. This program will be conducted by Yolanda Schlabach, RN, MA, executive director of Zoe Ministries Inc., whose mission is to facilitate safety, wholeness, and healing of survivors of domestic sex trafficking in Delaware. Schlabach has spent years engaged in public awareness and professional education to bring the reality of human trafficking to the forefront in Delaware. The public is encouraged to attend this program at the Lewes Public Library Thursday, Jan. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. Registration is suggested but walk-ins are welcome.

Cape Henlopen school board to meet Jan. 25
The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, in the library of Love Creek Elementary School. The board will discuss hiring more student resource officers or constables to add security at district schools. The board will also hear updates on construction at H.O. Brittingham Elementary, Rehoboth Elementary and Sussex Consortium.
