Lewes BPW meets March 22
The Lewes Board of Public Works will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, at city hall. The group will discuss the proposed operations and maintenance budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year as well as the five-year proposed capital improvement budget.

Board directors will also discuss the already approved rate increases for electric, water and sewer services as well as a request from Jack Lingo Asset Management to release the bond for the completion of the first phase of Showfield. For more information, call BPW offices at 302-645-6228.

Cape Henlopen school board to meet March 23
The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 23, in the cafeteria of Mariner Middle School for its regular meeting. The board will discuss capital projects and also discuss and possibly vote on the Little Vikings pre-K program. An update on the Facilities Task Force will also be shared.

Sidewalk closures expected in Rehoboth
Delaware Department of Transportation officials say pedestrians on the eastbound side of Rehoboth Avenue can expect closures and detours from Canal Street to Grove Street until Friday, March 24. DelDOT is continuing reconstruction of sidewalks, curb ramps and driveway entrances in that area of town. The department will have detours to provide access through and around the work area.

Milton P&Z to meet March 21
Milton Planning and Zoning will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, at the Milton library to review proposed amendments to the town's historic preservation overlay district. For more information or a full agenda, go to www.milton.delaware.gov or call 302-684-4110.

Milton water committees to meet
Milton Water Committee will meet at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, at the Milton library to discuss a water infrastructure improvement program. At 3 p.m., the Water Infrastructure Land Acquisition Committee also will meet at the Milton library for an executive session discussing preliminary land acquisition. Lewes BOA meets March 21
Lewes Board of Adjustment will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, at city hall. The group will hear three requests. The owners of 116 Dewey Ave., a nonconforming structure, are seeking a variance on side-yard setback that would be consistent with the existing structure. They are also seeking a variance on the space between main structure and an accessory building. The owners of Lot 73 in the Reserves at Pilottown are seeking a variance to reduce the front-yard setback from 30 feet to 25 feet in order to move 5 feet farther away from the New Road drainage ditch. The owners of 68 Sussex Drive, a nonconforming structure, are seeking a variance on side-yard setback, which would be consistent with the existing structure. Lewes byway committee to meet
The Historic Lewes Scenic Byway Committee will meet at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, at city hall. The group will discuss the proposed Transportation Alternative Program project along Savannah Road, byway signs, traffic management and open space efforts.
