Local applications on Sussex P&Z agenda April 26
Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 26, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda is a public hearing on a subdivision application filed by Outer Banks North & Outer Banks South – Edge Marine LLC for 49 single-family lots on 33 acres at the southwest corner of the Jimtown and Robinsonville roads intersection near Lewes. Also on the agenda is a conditional-use application filed by Jeri Berc for an agricultural education facility with commercial kitchen on a four-acre parcel at 16040 Hudson Road near Milton. Former candidate endorses Arlett
Chuck Boyse, a former Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, is supporting Sussex County Councilman Rob Arlett for U.S. Senate. "I have gotten to know Rob Arlett as a citizen and leader who has always put people first," said Boyce. "I know that Rob is in it solely for the purpose of bettering lives for all Delawareans because that's the kind of person he is." In accepting the endorsement, Arlett praised Boyce for his years of service to Delaware and his willingness to fight for conservative values in the First State.

"Chuck and I have become good friends, and I couldn't be prouder to have earned his trust, his support, and his endorsement," said Arlett, who has served as District 5 Sussex County councilman since 2014. "Chuck is a business leader, an entrepreneur, and a man who has given freely of his time and resources to make our state a better place.

Lewes BPW to meet April 25
The Lewes Board of Public Works will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, at city hall. The group will discuss bad debt write-off for the 2017-18 fiscal year, the possible adoption of the 2018-19 to 2022-23 capital improvements budget, and updates on the Alevo and Highland Heights tax ditch projects. Dewey budget committee to meet
The Dewey Beach Budget and Finance Committee has scheduled a meeting for 4 p.m., Friday, April 27, in the Dewey Beach Life Saving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. The agenda calls for discussion on results of a TGM report on agreed-upon procedures, an update on advisor fees from the town's financial advisory and a discussion on the timeline for a possible change to the accommodations tax. Dewey charter review committee to meet
The Dewey Beach Charter and Code Review Ad Hoc Committee is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28, in the Dewey Beach Life Saving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. The agenda calls for a possible vote on draft amendments to all sections of the town charter for recommendation to the town council. The agenda also calls for a discussion and possible vote on transmission letter to the town council.

Closure of Route 1B set for repairs
The closure of Route 1B between Grove Street  and Washington Street in Rehoboth Beach is set for 7 a.m., Wednesday, April 25 to 6 p.m., Friday, April 27 for water main repairs. DelDOT announces to motorists that the City of Rehoboth-Public Works will be closing SR 1B for water main repairs.Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
