Human trafficking workshop set Oct. 5
Human trafficking is real and is really happening in Delaware. Arrests of human traffickers recently made in Delaware have shined a spotlight on the issue in the First State, but even that is only a small pinprick of light in what is a very large problem for the First State. Join Yolanda Schlabach, founder of Zoë Ministries and co-chair of the Victim Services Committee of the Human Trafficking Council of Delaware, Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon to learn about sex trafficking in Delaware.

Find out how to identify it. Find out how to help the victims. Find out how to become part of the solution. The event takes place at Crossroads Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown.

"The goal is to provide a home that offers physical, emotional and spiritual healing to female victims of domestic minor sex trafficking in and from Delaware," said Schlabach. "Our vision is that every girl under the age of 18, in and from Delaware, that is freed from sex trafficking is provided the opportunity for full rehabilitation."

This is a free event, but registration is required by Sept. 30. To report a case of human trafficking, call the national hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or learn more at www.traffickingresourcecenter.org. To learn more about Zoë Ministries, go to www.zoe-delaware.org.
