Dewey marketing committee to meet
The Dewey Beach Marketing Committee has scheduled a meeting for 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28. As of deadline Oct. 24, no agenda had been posted.

Dewey trick-or-treating set Oct. 28
The Dewey Business Partnership is sponsoring trick-or-treating from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at participating businesses. On the Dagsworthy Avenue oceanside beach, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., there will be a haunted bonfire and graveyard, with music, dancing, refreshments, ghost story teller and other surprises. There will be a free Jolly Trolley shuttle service from Rehoboth to Dewey from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

DelDOT will close Airport Road
Airport Road between Miller Road and Old Landing Road near Rehoboth Beach will be closed from 7 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1, until 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, pending weather, for drainage improvements. Work will include the installation of drainage pipes, inlets and manholes along Airport Road as well as utility relocation along the roadway. Detour routes: Old Landing Road north to Route 1 and then south onto Miller Road; and Miller Road north onto Route 1 and then south to Old Landing Road.

Cape Henlopen school board meets Oct. 27
The Cape Henlopen school board will hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the cafeteria of Mariner Middle School. The board will hear presentations on the bookmobile, the Delaware Early Literacy Initiative and iPad use at the middle schools. There will also be a presentation on the final design for a new H.O. Brittingham Elementary and discussion on a Department of Transportation easement near Beacon Middle and Love Creek Elementary.

Head injuries talk set at Lewes library Oct. 27
There will be a talk, Head Injuries and Concussions, at Lewes Public Library East Room from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, with Neurosurgeon Dr. Jim Mills. Parents of athletes might be interested. For details contact 302-674-3970.
