Dewey audit committee meeting Dec. 7
The Dewey Beach Audit Committee has scheduled a meeting for 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Dewey Beach Life Saving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave.

The agenda calls to review and finalize agreed-upon procedures for an investigation in the police department's management of a federal surplus equipment program. A copy of the agenda can be found at www.townofdewey.com, at town hall, 105 Rodney Ave., and on the life saving station's message board.

Dewey approves capital improvements
Addressing parking, lighting and town hall air conditioning issues, Dewey town council approved $37,000 worth of capital improvements during its Nov. 11 council meeting. Council began by approving $6,450 to have Atlantic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning install a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit for the police department.

Next, council approved $2,600 to have Shore Electric install new electrical outlets on 20 light poles in the Route 1 median.
The final approval, for $27,800, was given to New Jersey-based Parkeon for the installation of four new multi-purpose parking permit machines – one on Van Dyke Avenue, two on Dickinson Avenue and one on Dagsworthy Avenue. The four new machines will replace seven old machines that are no longer being made.
