No Babies Wet Behind diaper drive held

April 23, 2018

No Babies Wet Behind diaper drive was held April 13 at Apple Electric. The original event was created and organized by Lisa Prestipino of Apple Electric, located in Rehoboth Beach, and was supported for many years by people who live in the Cape Region.

Previously, diaper drive happy hours were organized at Nage restaurant, now Fork+Flask @ Nage, and area gyms planned group exercise parties and yoga gatherings where diapers were donated for entry. Thousands of diapers were donated and provided by truckloads to the Gardenia House, a safe house for single mothers located in Georgetown, the Baby Pantry in Rehoboth Beach and La Red in Georgetown.

This year, Prestipino's diaper drive will be statewide, benefiting the Gardenia House and Harry K Foundation food pantries throughout Delaware.

This event was organized by Prestipino; Kathy McGuiness, City of Rehoboth Beach commissioner and candidate for Delaware State Auditor; and Karen Falk, director of public relations and communications at Jack Lingo Realtor.
