RAL Photography reception rescheduled for Jan. 20

January 7, 2018

Due to inclement weather, the Rehoboth Art League has rescheduled the reception for the Third Annual Juried Photography Exhibition for 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20.

"This exhibition has become a favorite among patrons of the art league," said RAL Artistic Director, Jay Pastore. "This year's artists comprise not only those of the Coastal Camera Club, but also from the Brandywine Photo Collective, centered in Wilmington. Members from both organizations submitted works for review by this year's juror, Ron Brignac."

Brignac received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in photography from Central Washington University, Ellensburg, Wash., and a M.F.A. in photography from Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif. He is currently professor of photography at the Delaware College of Art and Design. Brignac will also judge the final works and choose a Best in Show and Second Place Award.

Beginning at 1 p.m., Jan. 20, Brignac will host an informal gallery talk, discussing both his approach to jurying the exhibition as well as selected works in the exhibition. Artists will be free to discuss their works during this talk, or following, in private with Brignac. In addition, Saturday, Jan. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m., members from both organizations will be present their portfolios in the Corkran Gallery.

This exhibition runs through Feb. 4. The RAL is located at 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres. Gallery hours are Tuesday though Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on Monday. For more information go to rehobothartleague.org, or call 302-227-8408.

The gallery talk, opening reception, and portfolio review are free and open to the public. The opening reception is generously sponsored by Dogfish Head and a(MUSE.), in Rehoboth Beach.
