Northway Church provides school supplies for homeless schoolchildren in Milford

September 12, 2016

Northway Church provided school supplies for every homeless child in the Milford Elementary School District system through this year's annual School Supply Drive. Congregants raised a total of 650 new, unused school supply items throughout the month of August for local Milford families.

The school supply items were provided as well for several other children in need. A total of 99 individual children received a complete set of school supplies. Additional school supplies were delivered to Banneker Elementary School and Lulu M. Ross Elementary School.

This summer's school supply drive marked the fourth year that the church came together to help provide school supplies for families in Milford.

Senior Pastor Buddy Cremeans of Northway Church says, "We are dedicated to being a life-giving, life-changing presence in the Delmarva community. Our mission is to love God and love people. The annual school supply drive is just another expression of our love for the Delmarva community and specifically kids in this area. I'm thrilled that this year was such a huge success."

Local Campus Pastor Mike Mills of Northway Church's Delaware location said, "Anytime we hear of a need in our community, we do our best to help out in any way we can."

Jay Lingo serves as the elementary school counselor at Lulu M. Ross Elementary School. He said, "We really appreciate Northway Church for supplying us with school supplies for local families in need. There's so much need in the community, and this is just one way we can help lift that burden. It was great to see how excited the kids were when they received brand-new school supplies. A lot came in this year, and we are truly appreciative of the support of Northway Church."

Northway Church is committed to making a positive, life-changing impact in the Delmarva Region. Over the course of each year, they help support the needs of children through their Illuminate Christmas Project, serving meals to local families, and hosting a school supply drive for local schools.

Cremeans has a weekly television program on CBS 16 at 6:30 a.m. each Sunday and shares a positive, life-changing message of hope each week.
