OA Sotheby’s hosts Kevin Fleming reception at Bethany Beach Arts Festival

September 24, 2016

Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty hosted the kickoff event Sept. 9 for the 38th Annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival Weekend at Bethany Beach Ocean Suites. The keynote speaker was highly regarded photographer and artist Kevin Fleming of Rehoboth Beach. Along with an extensive question-and-answer session with attendees, Fleming shared some of his inside knowledge on how to capture incredibly beautiful moments in life on film. Collaborating with 99 Sea Level, OASIR guests feasted on fresh farm-to-table appetizers and original cocktails during the presentation. A full 100 percent of the proceeds raised from this event, over $2,000, will benefit the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation, which sponsors different community programs throughout Bethany and Fenwick Island.

Fleming has covered the world as a photographer for National Geographic and has been recognized as America's Best Observer by Reader’s Digest Magazine. He said, “It was a great event. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was very surprised to have nearly 100 people listening to me talk about my experiences photographing the beaches and natural beauty of coastal Delaware."

The foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Bethany-Fenwick community and surrounding areas by providing financial aid, resources and other assistance in support of programs, individuals and organizations that enhance the community for residents and visitors alike. "Partnering with Kevin Fleming and Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's for the Meet the Artist Cocktail Reception is an excellent example of collaboration in this business community. It was a first-class event and such a nice complement to the Arts Festival," said Kristie Maravalli, executive director of the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce.

"We want to send out a huge thank you to everyone who attended the Arts Kickoff evening featuring the one and only Kevin Fleming. We were thrilled to participate in such a great event that was able to raise money for a great organization such as The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation. Bethany and Fenwick Island are truly such gorgeous towns along our coast!" said Kathleen Schell, OA Sotheby's marketing director.
