Obedience class to start March 23 at Mispillion Kennel Club

March 17, 2017

The Mispillion Kennel Club six-week beginners' obedience class will start Thursday, March 23. The first night will be for registration and dog evaluation at 7:30 p.m. at the Milford Community Center, 105 N.E. Front St., Milford.

The class consists of basic obedience commands that are suitable for dogs of any age. The course will give owners a good start in training their puppies as well as covering all commands necessary for older dogs to earn the Canine Good Citizen title. The only age requirements are that puppies must be at least 4 months old to take this class and dogs must be at least 1 year old for the CGC title.

Mispillion Kennel Club members will be on hand during registration to answer questions and evaluate the dogs being registered for this class. Attendees should bring their dog and up-to-date veterinary records for registration. All dogs must have proof of a current rabies shot; a basic set of vaccines is also recommended. Registrations will be accepted until 8:30 p.m. Dog training collars will be available for purchase. Mispillion Kennel Club reserves the right to reject any dog that shows aggressive tendencies.

Payment of $75 for each dog will be collected at the time of registration. Payment must be in cash or a check made payable to MKC Inc. No debit or credit cards are accepted.

The class will begin training at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30, at the community center. Inquires may be made by phone to Mary Lukaszewski at 302-337-0142 or by email to mlukas@sprintmail.com. Additional details will be available at the time of registration or at www.Mispillionkc.org.
