Ocean Atlantic welcomes six new Realtors in Cape region

March 19, 2018

Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty announced the recent addition of six Realtors to their team of real estate professionals. "We are thrilled to have these agents on board with us at Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's," said Justin Healy, broker at OASIR. "In addition to diverse and interesting professional career paths that have ultimately led them to the field of real estate, many of our new additions have deep roots in our local community."

After spending summers in Rehoboth for over 25 years, Michael Reamy relocated from Washington, D.C., to become a full-time resident and Realtor in downtown Rehoboth Beach. Prior to launching his real estate career, Reamy was a tax accountant with global accounting firm Arthur Andersen followed by 20 years as an executive recruiter in the Washington D.C. Metro region for a $25B global provider of HR services. His two decades of bringing together employers and candidates prepared him to seamlessly match clients to purchase or sell spectacular properties while utilizing the power of the Sotheby's brand. His experience in buying, renovating and managing properties gives him a valuable edge guiding his clients toward making sound decisions. Reamy is highly knowledgeable of the Delaware beach real estate market and thoroughly enjoys helping his clients live the coastal dream.

A longtime resident of Philadelphia, Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, with over two decades in the business, Rick James joins OASIR with a distinct understanding and appreciation of the complexities of those real estate markets. He strives to achieve customer satisfaction in every transaction by putting his clients' needs at the forefront of the experience. His clients benefit from his efforts to build and maintain relationships with them based on trust and understanding. James is constantly working to find the best possible solution for any clients 24/7. He believes no amount of effort is too much throughout a real estate transaction as there is so much at stake in successfully working through complex transactions. His ultimate objective is to assist and guide clients in buying or selling properties quickly, efficiently and professionally. A former chairman of the Young Friends of the Brandywine River Museum and Conservancy, James enjoys the arts, traveling, fine food, wine and the beach.

Nick Smith's passion for the real estate industry started when he was a teen growing up in Kent County. The son of a builder and mortgage company owner, his exposure to every facet of home ownership started from a young age. Working as a carpenter in his family's construction company, Smith learned what it takes, literally from the ground up, to build and finance a home, and provide a quality product with excellent customer service.

As a real estate agent, he brings his foundation of loyalty, integrity, hard work and creativity to every relationship and transaction. Smith studied accounting, marketing and business management first at Clemson, then at University of Delaware. He worked for Merrill Lynch as a junior financial advisor for a few years, subsequently making the permanent move back to real estate, where his true passion lies. His success comes not only from a deep understanding of the industry and the factors that impact it, but also from Smith's genuine love of the process, and his ability to always put his clients first and listen to their needs.

Carol Ann Pala is a Delaware native, spending family vacations in Rehoboth and Bethany Beach since 1970. Originally from Wilmington, she attended Ursuline Academy and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware. Following a short stint at Georgetown University Hospital, she joined the family business, Pala Bros. of Wilmington, working with builders and private clients as an interior designer. After a receiving her masters in information science at the University of Tennessee, she and her husband Peter returned to Middletown, where Pala served as the library and archive director for St. Andrew's School for 16 years. Now full-time Lewes residents, they believe in sustainable development to wisely preserve this remarkable coastal community. Pala has had a far-ranging career, but, through it all, there has been one common thread; outstanding service and a penchant for delivering pertinent and timely information to her clients. Pala practices Svaroopa yoga and meditation daily; her mantra of "Happy clients ... Happy heart" has endured.

Laurel Quinn began her professional career teaching elementary school in Fairfax County, Virginia after graduating the University of Virginia. She soon returned to UVA, earning an MBA from the Darden School. Laurel held marketing and sales positions in New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC., before starting a family and then moving to Central New Jersey over 20 years ago. Quinn raised three daughters in the Princeton, N.J., area and began her real estate career as they went off to college. She worked for Callaway Henderson Sotheby's International Realty's Cranbury office for four years, earning 2016 Top Dollar Volume Agent. In 2017, Quinn realized her lifelong dream of owning a home by the sea and relocated to coastal Delaware. Quinn brings life experience to her real estate work. She is a good listener and will spend the necessary time to thoroughly understand a client's needs when helping to sell a current home or to find a "just right" home to buy.

John Wallden spent summers in Rehoboth Beach while attending the University of Delaware and earning degrees in English and communication. He is a well-known restaurateur, opening his first restaurant in Wilmington at the age of 26. The lure of the ocean and love of small-town charm compelled him to return to Rehoboth over 20 years ago. He recently sold his last Rehoboth restaurant venture, Shorebreak, in town and joins Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty at the perfect moment as they unveil their newest downtown office at 49 Baltimore Ave. Wallden is thrilled to begin work just steps from his home in the town he knows and loves so well.

"The real estate market in Sussex County, and especially coastal Delaware, has seen a dramatic increase in sales and volume over the past few years," stated Justin Healy. "We see a marked improvement in housing sales across all price ranges and are delighted to expand our team to include these talented professionals. They are most welcome additions, and we look forward to the market continuing its upward trend into 2018."
