Oil painting class at Rehoboth Art League to begin Jan. 23

Rehoboth Art League will offer a series of oil painting classes with local artist Joe Terrone from 6:15 to 8:45 p.m., Tuesdays, Jan. 23, to March 13. This class is for beginners as well as more seasoned painters.

This eight-week class will give attendees the tools needed to analyze and create a work of art, and give them the skills to take their painting to a new level. Each class will begin with a specific discussion topic such as color theory, composition, the importance of values, drawing skills and perspective. Participants will also learn how to read a tube of paint, what kind of brushes are needed, and what alternative substrate can be used.

Students may work from still life, photos or their imaginations, in either an objective or non-objective style. Individual instruction will be given to each student to help develop a specific plan for growth. The cost  is $215 for RAL members and $250 for nonmembers.
