Oldfather Group recognizes team members for 2017 success

The management team of the Oldfather Group of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty in Rehoboth Beach has recognized members of its team for extraordinary successes reached in 2017.

During an early February announcement at the firm's new offices on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach, Dustin and Mariya Oldfather named local real estate agent Bob Burton as the firm's MVP for the most recent calendar year.

Burton, a licensed agent since 2012 and a 1974 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, was honored for his commitment to the Oldfather Group team and for his willingness to help out whenever and wherever the situation warrants.

"Bob is the consummate team player, and we're extremely fortunate to have him on our team here in coastal Delaware," said Dustin Oldfather, chief executive of the 13-year-old firm. "He's always willing to go the extra mile whenever he's needed, and he's really become a big reason for our success over the last few years."

A Lewes native and an agent for the Oldfather Group since early 2015, Burton has now been named the recipient of the firm's most prestigious annual award for the second consecutive year.

Other award winners for 2017 were also recognized. Jeff Hecker was named the Oldfather Group's Rookie of the Year. Hecker joined the Oldfather Group team in spring 2017 and by the end of the year had recorded an impressive 12 closings for a total of more than $2.8 million in sales.

Chief Buyer Consultant Adam Linder and Realtor Celia Benjamin took home Top Producer honors. They again led the way with more than 65 combined properties sold in 2017, for a total of more than $25 million. The firm also recognized Linder in late November for recording more than $50 million in sales in his first five years in the real estate business.

"I've been really fortunate to work with the Oldfather Group for the last five years. I couldn't ask for more in terms of support than what Dustin and Mariya have given me," said Linder. "We've come a long way since we started, and I'm sure we still have much further to go."

Client Success Coordinator Sue Huntington received the Key Personnel award. Huntington joined the team in 2016 and was recognized by the Oldfather Group for her continuing commitment to expert customer service. As a client success team coordinator, she helps sellers in the often-stressful final weeks leading up to property closings, and has achieved a reputation for being patient, thorough and diligent in her duties "Sue is very focused, efficient and process-oriented when managing transactions, which is key to being a successful client success team coordinator, said Steph Moyer, the Oldfather Group's client success team director. "She's a true team player and she really cares about our clients, each and every day."

The Oldfather Group was founded in 2004 and specializes in real estate sales throughout coastal Delaware, including Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island, as well as the coastal Maryland towns of Ocean City and Berlin, and now northern New Castle County and parts of eastern Pennsylvania.
