One person was killed in an overnight fire at Angola Crest II, a development east of Angola, Aug. 10.

The blaze was reported shortly after midnight in the 23000 block of Lawrence Drive, off Camp Arrowhead Road. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene, where flames were seen coming from a home.

Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company spokesman Warren Jones said a woman was found in the rear bedroom. Her body was turned over to the Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy.

Rehoboth firefighters were assisted by Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Lewes Fire Department, Delaware State Police and Sussex County EMS.

State fire investigators have not yet determined the fire's origin and cause. The Office of the State Fire Marshal said the fire caused about $30,000 in damages, and an investigation is underway.
