Home of the Brave II receives $13,000 in donations
May 20, 2017

Home of the Brave staff and supporters recently celebrated an open house for Home of the Brave II, a shelter that offers eight beds for homeless female veterans and their children.

Home of the Brave II opened in 2016, moving from a rented home on Causey Avenue in Milford to Home of the Brave's campus off Route 1 near Milford, where the organization has provided housing for homeless male veterans since 1996.

The facility relies completely on donations. During the open house, the auxiliary from American Legion Post 7 in Harrington donated $500, the American Veterans Thrift Store in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach donated $7,000 and American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro awarded the shelter a $6,000 grant.
