Orchid seminar set at East Coast Garden Center Sept. 17

September 6, 2016

East Coast Garden Center will host an orchid seminar by Beth Davis of Waldor Orchids at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17. For those who have ever wanted to grow an orchid or have already taken the plunge and are enjoying their beauty, Davis's seminar will provide all the tricks for great orchid culture. Orchids are unusual and exotic but relatively easy to grow.

A third-generation orchid grower from family-owned Waldor Orchids in Linwood, N.J., Davis has worked at the greenhouses for over 20 years doing many different jobs. Now a stay-at-home mom with four children, she does many speaking engagements to stay involved with the family business. She chaired the Ocean City Flower Show for four years and has worked with the International Amphibian Days Organization in Baltimore.

Davis will be presenting basic culture information as well as doing a hands-on potting demonstration. She will have plants to demonstrate with, and plants for sale.

The garden center is at 30366 Cordrey Road, Millsboro. Cost for the seminar is $10 per person. For more information and to register, call 302-945-3489 or go to www.eastcoastgardencenter.com.
