Painting With a Twist event benefits lighthouse foundation

July 10, 2016

The Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation held a fundraiser June 28 to benefit the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse dock restoration fund. The event was sponsored by John and Lania Peterson, owners of Painting with a Twist in Lewes. In preparation, the group provided Barb Moulinier's “Harbor Master” image which was tied for People's Choice winner in the photography contest at the Lewes Tulip Festival in spring 2016.

Julie Borden created an artist rendition of the lighthouse which was accepted by the corporate office for Painting with a Twist. The new painting will be used nationally through the corporation, giving the foundation broader exposure.

The evening was a success with a sellout crowd of 48 participants who painted the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse with their own unique twist. At the conclusion, John Peterson presented Red Moulinier and members of the Lighthouse Foundation with a check for $1,000.
