Panetta brings strong background to Lewes

May 11, 2018

I would like to extend my endorsement for Thomas Panetta as a trustee of the Board of Lewes Public Works. Thomas has:

• Worked for General Electric for 25 years as an engineer, and for another five years consulting in electrical power generation, transmission and distribution. At GE, he managed large accounts, projects and project teams, and was responsible for their financial success.

• He believes in giving back to the communities that have given him so much. He has been actively involved both in his prior hometown in Pennsylvania and in his community in Lewes. He has been on the Lewes Planning Commission for the last three years.

The Lewes BPW will be facing several key issues in the near future, including providing services to potential annexation areas, sea level rise, stormwater runoff, and maintenance of existing infrastructure. Tom's technical, managerial, and financial experience will be an asset to the BPW. He will also work to increase BPW's outreach and transparency, and will solicit input from you, their customers. Tom's strengths include:

• 30-plus years working for GE Power Systems
• Oversaw design, construction and operation of power plants
• Experienced in power transmission and distribution systems
• Managed project management department overseeing $50 million of construction projects
• Extensive troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
• Ran businesses with revenues of $35 million to $50 million
• Proven conflict management and consensus builder
• Active member in community
• Member of Lewes Planning Commission
• Volunteer for Coastal Concerts
• Founding member and chairman of Phoenixville, Pa. Historic Architectural Review Board
