Panetta deserves wholehearted support

May 11, 2018

For the first time in a long history of the Lewes Board of Public Works, the hand-picked slate of candidates has been augmented by the addition of concerned citizens who have given us voting choices. Faced with some serious long-term issues, including sea water rise, the increase in violent storms and storm surges, and saltwater intrusion and potential pollution in our well water fields, I find that this requires strong and intelligent leadership, and we very much appreciate the opportunity to consider the very best candidates and welcome the competitive choices.

One of these alternative candidates rises to the very top and deserves our wholehearted support: Tom Panetta.

Tom has had a long and successful career in the energy utility field. He has been heavily involved in regulation, design, management and policy. He knows the industry well. In addition, he knows Lewes well, and has served successfully on the planning commission where he has proven to be knowledgeable, articulate and thoughtful.

He is an important asset to our community and a talent that should be a welcome addition to the BPW board. I support his candidacy, and hope that you will join me to assure his place on the board of the BPW.
