Patricia Ann Modigliani, had many accomplishments

February 13, 2018

Patricia Ann Modigliani, 83, of Lewes passed away suddenly at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes, Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, after a full day of personal training and baking cookies. She was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Burke McCaffrey.
In her final hours, Pat was surrounded by those she loved the most, her son Peter (Lisa), and daughter Laura (Danny); her three grandchildren, Adam, Katherine and Lucia; her nieces, Helen, Jeanie and Regina; and a dear friend, Barbara. She leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends whom she thoroughly loved.
Her early years of life and schooling were in Brooklyn, until such time her marriage to Peter and the beginning of a family moved her to Manhattan (Waterside Plaza). Following the early passing of her husband, she continued raising her two children while pursuing a career with the IBM Corporation, and later with St. Martin's Press.
Throughout her 83 years of life she persevered by being honest and true to herself as well as others. Her accomplishments were many, including beating cancer and surviving a stroke.
A life well lived to the fullest, a family raised with her same ideals, and a career completed with esteem earned her a well-deserved comfortable retirement first in Raleigh, N.C., and then in Lewes. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, and a toast of champagne to her will henceforth be the order of the day.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Beebe Medical Foundation, www.beebemedicalfoundation.org/donate-today/ c/o the Nursing School Scholarship Fund, 902 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
