Paul Eugene Street Sr., farmer, mechanic

Paul Eugene Street Sr. died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017. He was born May 7, 1941, to the late Elmer Richard Street and the late Pearl "Florine" (Daisey) Street in Harbeson.

Paul loved the land. He was a farmer and spent many hours tilling the soil. Paul was also an excellent mechanic and loved working on motor vehicles, especially tractors. He could be seen driving one of these tractors during the annual Nanticoke Indian Powwow. Paul was a faithful member of the Nanticoke Indian Association and his contributions will be sorely missed.

He was preceded in death by five sisters: Felicia Virginia Sammons, Lottie Street, Edith (Street) Harmon, Marian Street and Pearl (Street) Burks; and 10 brothers: Carlos Street, Benjamin Street, Vernon Street, Escuss Street, Harold Street, Lawrence Street, Curtis Street, Robert Street, Wildon Street and Everett Street.

He is survived by his two children, son Paul Eugene Street Jr. Georgetown, and daughter, Pauline Street Laurel, and their mother Rose Mary Street of Millsboro. Paul is also survived by one grandson Derek Paul Street; and three sisters: Margaret (Daisey) Harris of Wilmington, Merle (Street) Iannuzzi of Bridgeville and Ruth Street of Houston, Texas;, and 11 brothers: William H. Daisey of Dover, Charles and Meredith Street of Lewes, Roy and Shirley Street of Milton, Newlin and Cozy Street of Smyrna, Nolan Street of Ellendale, Nathan Street of San Diego, Calif., Garceil Street of Ellendale, Victor and Annette Street of Millsboro, Ronald and Gladys Street of Selbyville, Carl and Janice Street of Seaford; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Family and friends may call for viewing and visitation prior to service, from 11 a..m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Israel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 288 Lakeside Drive, Lewes.
