Paul V. West, DuPont Co. retiree

Paul V. West, 87, of Seaford, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Life Care at Lofland Park. He was born in Gumboro July 3, 1930, son of the late Eldwood and Mildred (Bailey) West.

Mr. West retired from the DuPont Company where he worked as an operator for many years. He was very involved at the Nanticoke Senior Center in Seaford, where he was known as the "Ambassador," where he volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and was an athletic director.

Mr. West was preceded in death by his wife, Doris H. West, in 1975. He is survived by his siblings: Lee West, Melvin West, Norris West and Helen Adkins, all of Laurel, and Rosalie Toomey of Bethany Beach; his niece, June West of Georgetown; and his nephews, Gregory Adkins and Kevin West of Laurel, and Burton Toomey of Ocean City, Md. He will be missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 17, at 2 p.m., at Watson-Yates Funeral Home & Crematorium, 609 East King St., Seaford, where friends may visit beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. West's name to the Nanticoke Senior Center, P.O. Box 406, Seaford, DE 19973.
