Pete Jones receives Justice Franchini Golden Gavel Award

Morris James announced that personal injury partner Francis J. "Pete" Jones Jr. is the 2017 recipient of the Justice Franchini Golden Gavel Award.

The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary dedication and commitment to the goals and ideals of the National High School Mock Trial Program. The Hon. M. Jane Brady, Superior Court judge of the State of Delaware, presented the award to Jones May 13 in Hartford, Conn.

Jones has been involved in the Delaware mock trial program since its inception in 1993. In the Delaware program, he has served as a coach, judge and as program director for over 10 years. In 2008, Delaware hosted the national competition. Jones was one of the organizers of that program and was instrumental in bringing the national competition to Delaware. Jones has been on the board of directors of the National High School Mock Trial Competition for over 20 years. While on that board, he has served on every committee and was at one time the chair of the organization.

Jones has over 30 years of experience litigating plaintiffs' personal injury matters. He has participated in a number of cases that have developed new law. He is also an active alternative dispute resolution practitioner, serving as both a mediator and/or arbitrator. Delaware Today magazine and Delaware Super Lawyers have recognized Jones as an outstanding lawyer in the fields of plaintiff personal injury and alternative dispute resolution.
