February 2, 2017

New channels have been added to Mediacom's digital variety pak to appeal to animal lovers and comedy fans. The channels are Pets.TV and Comedy.TV, and both are now included in a special-interest channel set viewers can add to their TV subscriptions.

Pets.TV is produced by a 16-time Emmy Award winner and strives to be the ultimate channel for animal lovers. Programs feature animals of all shapes and sizes, from companion animals to animals in the wild. Viewers can "Ask the Pet Vet" or ride along for an episode of "Animal Control Patrol." Other programs spotlight major pet fairs across the country or provide in-depth profiles on specific animals or breeds, including a popular feature on the history of the mini-horse.

Comedy.TV was founded by a former comedian and showcases top comics on talk shows, sitcoms and on stage. The network features comedians such as Billy Bellamy, Jon Lovitz and Vivica A. Fox. Shows include: "Comics Unleashed," "Mr. Box Office" and "First Family."

"These networks deliver a unique and entertaining mix of today's funniest comedians, stand-up comedy performances, sitcoms and pet lifestyle shows," said Italia Commisso Weinand, Mediacom executive vice president of programming and human resources. "This type of programming is popular with our customers."

Mediacom digital cable subscribers will find Pets.TV at Ch. 217 and Comedy.TV at Ch. 278. They are included in a set of more than 15 special-interest, variety and children's programming channels offered as the Kids and Variety Digital Pak.
