Please preserve bridge over Lewes-Rehoboth Canal

August 15, 2017

I write in reference to news of decommissioning the Cool Springs to Lewes Railroad. Very sad indeed! But certainly the bridge over the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal needs to be preserved for its historic significance.

The bridge has significance not only for Lewes but also as an engineering landmark. It may well be the only one of its kind.

I suggest it would be a great landmark to be preserved in its place on the canal. Furthermore, are the three railroad cars stranded at SPI Pharma so valuable that they must be moved out? Why not add them to the historic landmark and save the expense of opening (or closing) the railroad bridge one last time.

Come on folks, let's put our heads together and preserve an historic and remarkable unique landmark!
