Poetry reading and book signing by Elisabeth Stoner set March 25 in Lewes

To benefit Marine Education, Research, and Rehabilitation Institute
March 14, 2017

A poetry reading and book signing of Elisabeth Stoner's “Watermark” will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 25, at Lewes Public Library. All proceeds from the book will benefit MERR, the Marine Education, Research, and Rehabilitation Institute. Suzanne Thurman, MERR executive director, will speak briefly at the event.

“Watermark” is a collection of poetry about humanity and the environment. Stoner's poetry is honest, easily accessible and deeply moving. Photography in “Watermark” is the work of local photographer April Allyson Abel.

Stoner, now 83, became involved with MERR when she moved to the area 10 years ago. Since then, she has assisted with responses to strandings, fundraising and outreach, and she served as a scribe at necropsies. Stoner graduated from West Chester University summa cum laude and has worked as a writer, editor, designer and photographer. Currently residing in Milford, Stoner produces works to support nature, particularly marine creatures and the ocean.

The poetry reading is free and open to the public. Copies of “Watermark” may be purchased for $15. The library is accessible via Monroe Avenue from Kings Highway and Freeman Highway.
