Present the facts that discredit views

February 27, 2017

Journalists are the conscience of our nation. We desperately need them. The first thing a dictatorship does when assuming control of a country is to silence its journalists and vilify its critics. A truly democratic country is one that allows all points of view into the marketplace of ideas as long as those ideas do not promote violence or bigotry. This is what the forefathers of our country intended.

To those critics of the News Journal's columns who want to silence those voices that state facts that are unpopular or against their ideology, get educated. If you don't agree with opposing points of view, present the facts that discredit those views.
