Primeros Pasos presents plaque to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

Primeros Pasos early learning center in Georgetown recently held a reception for parishioners of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Georgetown.

Center staff presented the church members with a plaque thanking them for providing a home for Primeros Pasos from 2007 to 2017. Before moving to its present location on Savannah Road in Georgetown, directly across from the Perdue chicken plant, the early learning center was housed in St. Paul's Church where it pursued its mission to provide high-quality education in a culturally diverse environment for 20 children each day.

Throughout the years, St. Paul's has generously donated space to groups and other churches as part of its outreach ministries. Currently, several Alcoholics Anonymous groups, Adult Children of Alcoholics, Narcotics Anonymous, a foster care group, ladies book club and several Girl Scout troops hold their meetings at St. Paul's.

Several parish volunteers assist in delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels program, and adults and youth volunteers have traveled to Appalachia to work camps to help the less fortunate with home repairs.

St. Paul's also offers fun times and fellowship where parishioners can relax with a cup of coffee or tea such as the Saturday Morning Men's Group, or Fun, Food and Fellowship where one can play board games after a light meal of salad and dessert. St. Paul's also offers Supper and Study, where attendees enjoy a light meal and watch a film with often-lively discussions to follow.
