ProCutz Sports Barbershop offers free cuts for back to school

Delaware State Police hands out free book bags, school supplies
September 14, 2016

Children from elementary school to high school lined up outside Pro Cutz Sports Barbershop outside Lewes Labor Day morning for free haircuts and school supplies.

The event is becoming an annual tradition for ProCutz owner Chester Hope. After seeing 30 to 40 kids come through the doors for last year’s event, he added barbers to the roster to accommodate what he anticipated to be larger number this year.

The haircuts were paid for by members of the community. Sposato paid for the first six cuts this year.

“We understand how hard it is on single parents,” said Will Reid, engagement manager for the company. “This is just one less thing they need to worry about.”

Delaware State Police also attended the event, distributing free book bags and school supplies.

Master Cpl. Ricky Hargis of the Community Outreach Unit said many of the supplies were donated by the community, but some were purchased through the Community Outreach Unit budget.

Pro Cutz, 12001 Old Vine Blvd., Suite 104, is located in The Vineyards about a quarter mile west of the Route 9 entrance to Nassau Valley Vineyards. Call 302-313-4100 for more information.
