Progress for Prostate Golf Tournament fund presents $62,000 to Tunnell Cancer Center

April 18, 2017

Beebe Medical Foundation's Progress for Prostate Golf Tournament Committee recently presented a check from last year's event proceeds for a record-setting amount of nearly $62,000 to benefit the Men's Health Program at Beebe Healthcare's Tunnell Cancer Center. This marks the largest monetary golf tournament donation in the Beebe Charitable Golf Classic Series.

Over the past 13 years, this event has raised more than $350,000, advancing the progress and capabilities of how Tunnell Cancer Center serves the community. Progress for Prostate has been instrumental in bringing state-of-the art robotic surgery to Beebe Healthcare, and all proceeds from this tournament will go directly to offset costs associated with this lifesaving instrument and associated services.

Last year, in addition to the tournament, Progress for Prostate held a spring dine and donate event at Hooked Up in Millville, a one-month fundraiser through Hocker's Grocery Stores and Deli, a magic show and dinner the night before the tournament at Cripple Creek Golf & Country Club in Dagsboro, and a fall lottery in conjunction with the Delaware Pick Three drawing.

"To my knowledge, we are the only gender-specific fundraiser in the state of Delaware directly benefiting men's health," said Drew Sunderlin, Progress for Prostate event chair.

The 14th Annual Progress for Prostate Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, June 22, at Cripple Creek Golf & Country Club in Dagsboro. For more information, go to www.beebemedicalfoundation.org or call 302-644-2900.
