Quilt exhibit opening reception set Oct. 26

October 22, 2017

In conjunction with the Rehoboth Beach Public Library and the Village Improvement Association, the Ocean Waves Quilt Guild will present an exhibit titled ‘Quilts - From Traditional to Modern’ which will highlight many types of quilting techniques that include hand and machine quilting, hand and machine appliqué, thread painting, trapunto, stack and whack, 3-D effects, traditional English paper piecing, machine paper piecing, curved piecing, embellishments with crystals and beads, and a photo-to-quilt appliqué.

An opening reception with wine, cider and hors d'oeurvres will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, Oct. 26, in the conference room at the library.

The guild was established in 1997 exclusively for educational and charitable purposes and to keep alive a tradition that has been passed down for generations. During the past 20 years, membership has grown to 240 members. The guild meets the first Monday of the month at Conley's United Methodist Church at 33106 Jolyns Way. All are invited to attend meetings as guests for $5, or to join the guild for a $20 annual membership fee.

The exhibit will continue through Monday, Nov. 27. For more information, go to www.oceanwavesquiltguild.org.
