RAL holds 79th annual Members Fine Art Exhibition
Fine art and fine craft show opens Aug 5-6

The juror for the Members Fine Art Exhibition was René Treviño, center, who is currently an adjunct professor at Towson University and the Maryland College of Art. Treviño is shown with RAL Exhibitions Director Jay Pastore, left, and Paul Frey.
Selected for the William Horn Award, Best Photography was Leslie Sinclair. The image shot in Cuba is titled “Wings of Promise.”

In the Homestead Gallery Artist George W. Thompson shows a large scale painting in the Environmental Impact exhibition. The image is titled “A Layered Effect.”
Taking home the Mary Derrickson McCurdy Memorial Award was Anne Hanna with her water color titled “Six Fishes.”
Louise Gatanas stands proudly with her gouache and ink image titled “Sun Catchers.” Gatanas was awarded the Thomas McFarland Kelly Award, Painting of Exceptional Merit.
Providing the sound track for the exhibition was Ken Cicerale on alto sax from Georgetown.
The recipient of the Faucett-Okie Award, Emerging Delaware Artist Traditional Style was Christy McEvily with her watercolor image titled “Flying High.”
Relaxing in the gallery are Laura Donnelly and Bob Blayney.
The Delaware Watercolor Society Award of Excellence was presented to Nancy Mysak, right, for her image titled “Old Man and the Sea.” Shown with Mysak is the President of the Delaware Watercolor Society Elizabeth Collard.
Laura Hickman won the The Howard Schroeder Award, Best Portrait of Figurative Award with her image “Mystic Goat.”
The Rehoboth Art League held an opening reception for the 79th annual Members Fine Art Exhibition July 28 in the Corkran, Tubbs and Ventures galleries. Over 125 artists displayed painting, sculpture, mixed media and photography vying for the 10 awards available in the exhibition. Also on display in the Homestead Gallery was a members’ juried showcase titled Environmental Impact. Juror Lee Mills selected 21 pieces in a variation of medias.
This weekend, the art league hosts its 44th annual Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft show on the art league campus in Henlopen Acres.
