Raymond Wasilko, cherished family, friends

Raymond Wasilko, 77, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes of ALS complications. He was born Feb. 9, 1939, in McKees Rocks, Pa., son of the late Charles and Mary (Dyczko) Wasilko.
Mr. Wasilko was a 1962 graduate of Penn State, after which he began a lifelong career as a project manager for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Md. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church in Lewes, where he attended services for several years. Mr. Wasilko was a member of the Liberty B.A.S.S. Club for over 25 years, and a former Boy Scout troop leader. He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, golfing and traveling, but more than anything, he cherished times spent with his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, nephew, brother and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Wasilko is survived by his beloved wife since Oct. 5, 1963, Carol (Belasco) Wasilko, born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and a graduate of Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing; his three children: Christina, Daniel and David; his only grandchild, Cora; his aunt, Johanna Dicko; one brother; and two sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at St. Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church, 33384 Mackenzie Way, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 9 a.m. A graveside service will be held in July at Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville, Md.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Wasilko's memory to The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
