February 11, 2017

Sussex Eye Center announced Dr. Michael Rebarchik is its newest partner owner. He has been an associate optometrist with the practice since 2011.

Over the last six years, Rebarchik has been providing comprehensive optometric services to patients across Sussex County. He specializes in fitting specialty contact lenses, specifically rigid gas permeable and scleral lenses, for patients who cannot attain normal vision with traditional eyeglasses and soft contact lenses. He is currently the only fellow of the Scleral Lens Society in the state of Delaware. Rebarchik also fits both soft and gas permeable multifocal contact lenses for patients who desire to be less dependent on reading glasses.

Rebarchik earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Hartwick College, from which he graduated magna cum laude. After completing his undergraduate studies, he attended optometry school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. While there, he earned an additional bachelor's degree in vision science as well as his doctoral degree in optometry, and he graduated with honors in 2010. Rebarchik furthered his education by completing a highly competitive residency in corneal disease and specialty contact lenses at Salus University in Philadelphia. After his studies concluded, Rebarchik joined Sussex Eye Center as an associate optometrist in 2011.

In addition to providing outstanding eye care services to his patients, Rebarchik also serves his community as a member of Dewey Beach Lions Club. During his free time he enjoys exploring all the outdoor activities Sussex County has to offer. In the summer months he frequents the beach with his wife Myloan and infant son Alexander. He also enjoys cycling, stand-up paddleboarding, and exploring the state parks with his dog Milo.

Since first opening its doors in Georgetown in 1983, the Sussex Eye Center practice has expended to additional locations in Lewes, Long Neck and Selbyville. Rebarchik is currently accepting patients in Lewes, Long Neck and Georgetown. For more information, go to www.sussexeyecenter.com.
