Rehoboth’s Jeney earns permit certification

May 23, 2018

Rehoboth Beach Code Enforcement Officer Dennis Jeney has received his certification as a permit technician from the International Code Council.

Permit technicians help process and issue permits to the general public. City spokeswoman Krys Johnson said the certification requires knowledge in international building code, zone and site development, plans and documents, and successfully passing an International Code Council exam. Jeney already holds property maintenance and housing inspector certifications.

“The knowledge with this certification helps serve the city, customer, and citizen better. I’m looking forward to continually growing with the city and contributing to the progress we are experiencing,” he said.

City Manager Sharon Lynn said, “Working toward and earning professional certification in one’s field of work shows the dedication of the staff to ensure they are performing at the highest levels. We congratulate Dennis on his achievement. We are fortunate to have him on our staff.” For more information about the building and licensing department, visit cityofrehoboth.com or call 302-227-6181 ext. 222. SUBMITTED PHOTO
