Rehoboth author Jackson Coppley signs novel aboard Oasis of the Seas

February 15, 2018

Award-winning Rehoboth Beach author Jackson Coppley recently returned from a major book signing event on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas, one of the largest cruise ships sailing the Caribbean. Coppley's latest novel, “Leaving Lisa,” is a favorite of book clubs and gatherings throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Coppley says of the experience on the ship, "It was gratifying to meet so many people from around the world who were truly interested in hearing the story - Lisa's sudden death and Jason's search for forgiveness."

”Leaving Lisa” is about a man's struggle to come to terms with his wife's death by responding to instructions about where to spread her ashes.

The reader learns about the baby turtles in Costa Rica struggling to the sea, the Hmong people in Vietnam and their view on passing to the beyond, and the Perugina chocolate factory in Italy and new love.

Coppley is a consummate storyteller who weaves an uplifting storyline around one man's journey of self-discovery. Coppley frequently includes an item of artificial intelligence in his stories, and says of his background, "As an engineer, owner of my own software company, and a senior project manager at IBM, I never lost sight of the characters I carried in my head. They spoke to me, begging me to write about them. The minute I retired, the characters came spilling out. I knew each one of them, and they told me their stories!"

Coppley is currently working on his next novel, “The Code Hunters,” an adventure thriller due out in fall 2018. Learn more about Coppley and his progress on “The Code Hunters” on his website and blog: www.JacksonCoppley.com, or contact him at www.JacksonCoppley.com/contact.
