Rehoboth Bandstand’s 56th season to begin May 26

Free entertainment with a beachfront view

Since 1963, the City of Rehoboth Beach has offered free entertainment at the Bandstand for residents and vacationers. This year marks another exciting season featuring an abundant variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy beginning at 8 p.m., every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In an exciting Memorial Day weekend show, Bandstand performances will kick off at 8 p.m., Saturday May 26, with Desert Highway, known for their critically acclaimed journey through numerous radio hits, Top 10 singles and favorite solo works of The Eagles. Local favorite Jimi Smooth Band will bring their style, flair and musical talents to the stage at 8 p.m., Sunday, May 27.

The season jumps into full swing Friday, June 15, with Wilmington’s own group, The Counterfeiters. Shows will continue every weekend night through Sept. 1. 

Noted groups providing free entertainment this year include Mike Hines & the Look, Billy Price Band, The 1974, Central City Orchestra and, all the way from Brooklyn, the Edwin Perez Band.

Tribute performances include acts from Real Diamond (Neil Diamond), Gringo Jingo (Santana), Yellow Brick Road (Elton John), The B-Street Band (Bruce Springsteen), Still Surfin’ (Beach Boys) and Larger Than Life – the Ultimate Boyband Tribute.

Program Director Corey Groll said, “We are humbled and honored to sponsor the U.S. Navy Concert Band with their first performance in Rehoboth Beach on July Fourth, an event certainly not to miss.” The Cinema by the Surf movies to be shown this year Thursday, July 19 and Aug. 16, are made possible by the generous support of WSFS Bank. “It is with great pleasure that we continue our rich tradition of high-quality acts and top regional performances on our beautiful stage,” said Groll.
