Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market open Tuesdays

August 5, 2017

Aug. 1 marked the midpoint of the Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market season and the peak season for local produce. The 45 market vendors have a full array of summer vegetables such as heirloom tomatoes, Delaware white and bicolor corn, organic summer squash, and local peaches and melons. The market also has meat and seafood for sale. Vendors have flash-frozen Alaska salmon, fresh sausages and lamb. Jams, local honey, spices and herbs, and breads and sweets are also available.

Prepared food is available for lunch, which can be eaten at the picnic tables in the park or taken home. Customers can also purchase an assortment of lavender products and exquisite handmade wood cutting boards.

The Rehoboth Beach Public Library has teamed with the market to provide a children's story hour at 1 p.m. each Tuesday at the market. The story tent is directly behind the Information Tent at the main entrance. Local musicians provide entertainment during each market day.

This is the 11th year of the market which is open Tuesdays from May through October in Grove Park at the lighthouse circle behind the chamber of commerce. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during August. Free parking is available during market hours within a two-block radius of the market on Henlopen and Columbia avenues, and Felton Street.
