Rehoboth commissioners drop offseason parking talks

July 26, 2016

The Rehoboth Beach commissioners have quickly dropped discussion of offseason parking meters on Rehoboth Avenue.

Commissioner Paul Kuhns, who opened the topic up for discussion, said he suggested the matter be taken off the table after receiving negative feedback from constituents.

“The people have spoken. I listened,” he said.

Kuhns had suggested a pilot program that would have seen the Rehoboth Avenue meters stay up in the offseason at a reduced rate. No timetable was given for how long the meters would have stayed up. The idea met with skepticism from the commissioners when Kuhns brought it up at the commissioners July 5 workshop and he said they agreed to drop the matter at their July 15 meeting.
