Rehoboth siblings shovel driveway for war hero

January 13, 2018

Rehoboth Elementary School students Maile and Miles Godwin recently contacted George Malleck of Rehoboth Beach and offered to shovel out and clear his driveway. They were offered payment but declined. Instead they thanked him for his bravery and service.

Malleck is a Purple Heart recipient for his service during the Vietnam War. Malleck came out with hot chocolate for the kids and thanked them. He mentioned what a big help it was and that he'd just returned from a three-day visit to Beebe Hospital.

The kids felt great about helping out and doing a good deed.
