Ribbon cutting held for Excellens Physical Therapy in Lewes

November 26, 2017

The Lewes Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Aquacare Physical Therapy's newest location, Excellens Physical Therapy, the land-based division of Aquacare, in Lewes. This specialty location is at 34434 King Street Row #1 and is currently seeing patients. "We made the decision to open this location in response to requests of the community to have our specialty programs including Parkinson's disease, vestibular rehabilitation and women's health offered east of Coastal Highway," says Bradley Saunders PT, DPT, regional director for Aquacare Physical Therapy. "We will also be performing free physical therapy screenings/consultations for recommendations on further care, as we offer at all our locations."

In addition to traditional orthopedic and sports physical therapy, this location will specialize in women's health including incontinence (leakage of urine) and pelvic pain. Women's health specialty programs will be led by Cara Konlian, MSPT, one of the lead gynecological physical therapists on the Eastern Shore. This location will also specialize in LSVT BIG, a program designed to meet the needs of individuals with Parkinson's disease, and American Institute of Balance Certified Vestibular Rehabilitation for those who suffer from multiple forms of dizziness and loss of balance leading to falls.

Excellens/Aquacare Physical Therapy guarantees that evaluations can be scheduled within 24 hours if needed. Offering early morning hours, this location will also offer same-day scheduling.

Aquacare's original Lewes site at 20684 John J. Williams Highway will remain open and specialize in aquatics and hand therapy with Certified Hand Therapist Eileen Kane, MS, PT, CHT, RYT. Aquacare Physical Therapy has served Delmarva and is celebrating its 20-year anniversary this year.
