April 24, 2017

The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce welcomed Give Something Back with a ribbon cutting March 28 at Sussex Central High School in Georgetown.

Give Something Back is a national organization devoted to mentoring and offering college scholarships for students facing economic adversity. Attending the ceremony were Give Back scholars from Sussex Central: Jaylyn Bivens, Jeffry Roblero, Issac Barnes, Jonathan Strehl, Trinity Amankwa and Isaiah Barnes. These 10th-graders were accepted into the Give Something Back program last spring.

Upon graduation from high school they will attend the University of Delaware for four years at no cost for tuition, fees, room and board. Give Something Back currently has scholars in Sussex County attending Milford High School, Sussex Central High School, Indian River High School, Cape Henlopen High School and Sussex Technical High School.

Give Back’s next cohort of students will need new mentors. For more information or to become a mentor for one of its high school scholars in Sussex County, go to www.giveback.ngo/mentors or call 609-281-5749.
