Richard ‘Rick’ T. Frisby Jr., former assistant postmaster

Richard "Rick" T. Frisby Jr., 72, of Bethany Beach, formerly of West Chester, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Rick was born in West Chester, Aug. 3, 1944, son of the late Richard T. Frisby Sr. and Gertrude Marie (McMenamin) Frisby. He retired as the assistant postmaster at the Lewes Post Office in 1993 after a total of 25 years in the industry. After his "retirement," Rick worked at the Lowe's in Lewes, and also worked for ResortQuest in Bethany Beach as a pool technician, retiring completely in 2012.

Rick was a lifetime member of the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company, serving as a fire policeman. He was also an avid surf fisherman, and also enjoyed making fishing poles and tackle.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Josephine H. (Bradley) Frisby; a daughter, Lisa Bennett and her husband Frank S. Bennett III of Frankford; and two grandchildren, Aaron Bennett and Colby Bennett, both of Frankford.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 28, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Rick Frisby's name to Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947, or Bethany Beach Fire Company, P. O. Box 950, 215 Hollywood St., Bethany Beach, DE 19930.
