Richard C. Strohm Jr., enjoyed time with family

December 18, 2017

Richard C. Strohm Jr., 53, of Lewes, passed away early Wednesday morning, Dec. 13, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes.

Rick was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 25, 1964, to Margaret and Richard C. Strohm Sr.

He relocated to Lewes, where he settled into the beach life and lived life to its fullest. He was happily employed in a job he loved at the Walmart Distribution Center in asset protection, where he worked for 14 years.

Rick could often be seen riding his bike all over Sussex County, and enjoying a swim at the various beaches in town.

He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and took pleasure in reading, listening to music and taking walks on the Boardwalk with his family in Rehoboth.

Above all, Rick most enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and his Boston Terriers. He was a loving and devoted father to his two children and daughter-in-law, and a wonderful husband to his wife Susan. Nothing meant more to Rick than his family, and he made sure all who knew him were aware of that. Rick was an amazing friend, who never failed to make you laugh, and he will be genuinely missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

Rick is survived by his wife, Susan A. Strohm; his son, Richard C. Strohm III and wife Katherine Strohm; his daughter Rachel M. Strohm; his sister Lisa Henninger; his brother Stephen Strohm; and his two dogs Bronson and Franklin; and an extensive extended family. Along with this he will forever be remembered by all his friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, at noon, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro.
